Overview

Nestled in the heart of downtown Denver, Phraya Thai is a compact gem that delivers authentic Thai flavors with precision and care. Located on Larimer Street, this snug eight-table restaurant offers an intimate dining experience that feels both modern and welcoming. Its small space means the atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and ideal for those who appreciate focused, quality dishes over large crowds.

The true highlight at Phraya Thai is undoubtedly their noodle selections. The Pad See Ew comes highly recommended for its perfectly cooked wide rice noodles that carry a smoky, wok-fried aroma. It balances savory and sweet notes skillfully, with crisp vegetables that add texture rather than mushiness. Similarly, the Pad Kee Mao, or Drunken Noodles, feature fresh ingredients like Thai basil and bell peppers, creating bold flavors that linger pleasantly without overpowering the palate. For fans of classic dishes, their Pad Thai stands out with a harmonious mix of egg, bean sprouts, peanuts, and lime, delivering a satisfying and well-rounded meal.

Beyond the noodles, other dishes such as the beef Pad See Ew and chicken Penang peanuts wok showcase fresh ingredients and authentic spice levels that cater to both newcomers and seasoned Thai food enthusiasts. The beverage offerings, including carefully selected beers like Lucky Buddha, complement the spicy, aromatic fare gracefully.

Service at Phraya Thai has received mixed notes but generally leans towards friendly and attentive, with moments of standout hospitality that enhance the dining experience. While parking in downtown Denver can be challenging, the restaurant’s location makes it a convenient stop for urban food lovers seeking genuine Thai cuisine. One minor drawback is the bathroom accessibility, as it requires a short walk outside the main dining area, which some may find less convenient.

Phraya Thai is geared toward customers who value authentic, flavorful Thai street food in a relaxed and intimate setting. Whether you're grabbing a casual meal after work or seeking a comforting dinner spot downtown, this restaurant captures the essence of Thai cooking with a balance of traditional taste and contemporary presentation. If you appreciate dishes with clean, well-defined flavors and a personal touch, Phraya Thai should be on your list.

Thanks to reviews, found this hidden Thai food in downtown Denver. Parking is difficult like any big cities. We went late so there was no waiting and got seated right away. Crab Rangoon for appetizer was tasty. We got Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle which was amazing. Got medium spice and it was just right. The flavor was tasty and portion not as much. It is a smaller place so for bathroom, you walk outside the place to a different building just outside the door. Service was okay but food is amazing.

Man… their Pad See Ew goes stupid. Wide noodles cooked perfect… got that smoky wok hit like they actually know what they doin back there. Sauce is balanced… sweet but not syrupy… savory but not salty… just dialed in. Broccoli still got that crunch so it ain’t all mushy. Overall… straight comfort food that actually got flavor. If you’re pullin up to Phraya Thai and don’t know what to order… this the one.

Snug 8-table restaurant with a modern interior. We had the beef pad see ew and chicken penang peanuts wok; both were very fresh and flavorful. Spice levels were accurate and prices were fair. All-around great Thai food. Especially loved the Lucky Buddha beer bottles.

Another decent Thai restaurant downtown. All of the hot dishes were pretty good, but not amazing. The mango sticky rice had some of the hardest driest rice I've eaten. The door to patio is also the largest swinging door I've seen, it's two stories tall.

A relatively new stablishment in the heart of RiNo. All the foods that we tried were good. The spicyness was a bit off, it was more on the bitter side than spicy. Protein portions were also small. But the taste profile was on point. Would go back

Perfect spot when you're craving Thai food. We are visiting from Los Angeles and wanted to find a Thai spot and this place has a lot of great reviews. We understand why! The space is small, but inviting. The staff friendly and efficient. The dishes here are as good as any we've had in recent memory. We also enjoyed the ordering process. Pick your dish (rice, noodle, curry, etc), pick your protein and your spice level. A fantastic way to mix and match for everyone at the table. We started with veggie rolls. Perfectly crispy outside, tender and flavorful inside. The dipping sauce had a "not from a bottle" feel to it. We then had the vegetable fried rice, the shrimp curry and the shrimp drunken noodles. Each flavorful with brilliant textures. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and were large and plump. We ordered medium spice level and it created enough heat for the perfect bite. We scraped the plates clean. Portions are large and great for sharing. 100% would go back.
